1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to save, and which the browser then sends back with every subsequent request to that site. Local storage is a similar mechanism, except the values stay on your device and are only read by scripts running on the page — they are never automatically transmitted anywhere.

Both are commonly grouped under the term "cookies" in privacy notices, and both are covered by this policy.

2. What we actually use

This website sets no cookies at all. It uses two local storage entries, both strictly necessary for the site to respect choices you have made:

• Your animation preference. The site keeps animations enabled by default, including when your operating system requests reduced motion. If you switch motion off using the toggle in the header, that choice is remembered here.
• Your cookie notice choice. So the notice does not reappear on every page you visit.

We do not use analytics, advertising, remarketing, heat-mapping, session recording, social media pixels or any other tracking technology. We do not know how many people visit this site beyond what our hosting provider's server logs record, and we do not attempt to identify you.

4. Third-party requests

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser requests the font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google does not receive a cookie from this request, but it does receive your IP address and user-agent string, because that is unavoidable in any HTTP request.

If you would rather avoid that entirely, the fonts can be self-hosted — ask us and we will bundle them with the site. Apart from Google Fonts, this website makes no third-party requests: no CDNs, no embedded videos, no social widgets, no external scripts.

5. How to control or delete it

5.1 On this site

Use the Cookie settings link — also available in the footer of every page — to clear your stored choice and bring the notice back. The motion toggle in the header can be switched at any time.

5.2 In your browser

You can block or delete cookies and local storage for any site through your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Clearing this site's storage has no side effects beyond resetting the motion preference to its default (on) and showing the cookie notice again.

6. Legal basis

Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as implemented in Latvian law, consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has explicitly requested. Remembering a preference you set yourself falls into that category, which is why this site does not ask you to opt in before it works.

The cookie notice on this site is informational: it tells you what is stored rather than asking permission to track you, because no tracking takes place. Personal data handling is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever add a technology that stores or reads more than the two values listed above, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and — where the law requires it — a genuine consent choice will be presented rather than a notice.
